FRENCH MARBLE MANTLE

This is really an impressive mantle clock weighing 65 pounds. The dial is a design of a dragon in the center. The columns and the bronze bust on the top make this clock a beautiful example of the fine French clock work of the early 1900's. Most of the clocks of this style you see have had their corners chipped away from being moved and bumped, but this one has survived wonderfully. There appears to be a button  missing from the front center at the base.  It is hard to tell what was originally there. The movement is a typical french round movement and it counts off the hours and strikes once on the half-hour. This clock needs a special place to be seen as it stands a full 14 1/2" tall.
