UNIQUE GILBERT NOVELTY

I have not found this clock anywhere in Gilbert's catalogs. It is most unusual. It stands 17" tall and has a base and bezel made of cast iron. A glass globe with interior marbelizing connects the base to the bezel. I think this clock is very special and  we call  it the WEIRD GILBERT. The works of this clock were cleaned some time ago and it runs very well with a strong, loud tick. There is a hole in the face at the second hand, my guess is that it's from a careless repairer trying to pull the second hand. The winding key and the hand set knob are probably replacements as I would guess that they were originally brass. Still a great piece that would look great in the right setting. A fun addition to a clock collection.
